A web accessible clinical patient information networked system
Developed with the intention to make the patient data storage system in the clinical outpatient area more efficient, this system stores all pertinent and relevant patient data such as lab results, patient history and X-ray images. The system is accessible via the internet as well as operable over a local area network (LAN). The intended audience for this program is essentially the clinical staff (e.g., physicians, nursing staff, secretarial staff). The computer program was developed using Java Server Pages (JSP) and utilizes the Oracle 9i database
eBay Selling Manager Application Development
This project encapsulates the development of five applications for eBay\u27s Selling Manager Applications platform. These applications focus on providing a tool set for eBay sellers that allows them to improve their item listings and offerings. The tools range from identification of product opportunities, advice and assistance for listing creation, and feedback analysis. Sellers can use this combination of original and converted applications to increase their revenue and profit, while protecting their business against fraud
BUILDING A COMMUNITY: Refining the Robotics Innovation Competition and Conference
This is an investigation to identify the necessary steps that need to be taken in the development of the Robotics Innovations Competition and Conference. These steps are those that will ensure that the RICC achieves its stated goal of building a strong community in the field of robotics, featuring a lasting connection between academia and industry. Ensuring this will be accomplished by identifying and anticipating the needs of the parties involved in the RICC- university professors, members of industry, and student participants. This project aims to identify those needs through interview and survey techniques, and then design ways to meet the needs of these groups. It is believed that doing so is necessary to fostering the community that the RICC aims to build
Holistic engineering design : a combined synchronous and asynchronous approach
To aid the creation and through-life support of large, complex engineering products, organizations are placing a greater emphasis on constructing complete and accurate records of design activities. Current documentary approaches are not sufficient to capture activities and decisions in their entirety and can lead to organizations revisiting and in some cases reworking design decisions in order to understand previous design episodes. Design activities are undertaken in a variety of modes; many of which are dichotomous, and thus each require separate documentary mechanisms to capture information in an efficient manner. It is possible to identify the modes of learning and transaction to describe whether an activity is aimed at increasing a level of understanding or whether it involves manipulating information to achieve a tangible task. The dichotomy of interest in this paper is that of synchronous and asynchronous working, where engineers may work alternately as part of a group or as individuals and where different forms of record are necessary to adequately capture the processes and rationale employed in each mode. This paper introduces complimentary approaches to achieving richer representations of design activities performed synchronously and asynchronously, and through the undertaking of a design based case study, highlights the benefit of each approach. The resulting records serve to provide a more complete depiction of activities undertaken, and provide positive direction for future co-development of the approaches
Method of Forming Textured Silicon Substrate by Maskless Cryogenic Etching
Disclosed herein is a textured substrate comprising a base comprising silicon, the base having a plurality of needle like structures depending away from the base, wherein at least one of the needle like structures has a depth of greater than or equal to about 50 micrometers determined perpendicular to the base, and wherein at least one of the needle like structures has a width of less than or equal to about 50 micrometers determined parallel to the base. An anode and a lithium ion battery comprising the textured substrate, and a method of producing the textured substrate are also disclosed
